"It was outside, now its inside. In front but only there. Whether the tides are conspiring, in the glimmer of these minor calculations crudely summoned to the artifices. This yearning winter, the other, the sliding into nothingness before somethingness. Proceedings are meaningless, craving to sense but inevitably, destructively, both. And also neither."
Full of Seeds, Bursting with its own Corrections is the first release from Sheffield sound constructors Comet of any Substance. Described by Simon Scott of Slowdive, who also mastered the EP, as “stunning”, imagine Kevin Shields, Delia Derbyshire and Autechre jamming a dystopian sci-fi soundtrack and you might be in the ballpark. Wonky, woozy synths, drum machines and found sounds regurgitated and reheated by unruly samplers, recalcitrant regenerators intentionally obscured and abstracted from their source, this 8 track,16 minute EP ought to arouse the senses of those appreciative of atmospheric experimental electronic music.
Praise for Full of Seeds, Bursting with its own Corrections:
"Given its terse length you don’t get bored of any of the songs, and it demands to be played on loop. If you give Full of Seeds, bursting with its own Corrections a chance, you might be surprised with what you find. Or you might not, depending on your opinion of experimental music, but one thing is certain: Comet of any Substance’s debut release is a direct continuation of Sheffield’s rich musical heritage" - Nick Roseblade, God is in the TV
"This album is indeed foggy, woozy, confusing, unnerving, exciting. Woof." - Aiden Hanratty, Bandcloud
"Clearly, this band is too cool for school....This album may be an acquired taste, it’s a quicky experiment, but one thing is for sure: It does NOT have a good beat, and you cannot dance to it." - Carl F. Gauze, Ink19
"The clatter of movement abounds as if heard through an aural prism or malfunctioning thrusters feeding back in a delicious, controlled way are all wrapped up in this fantastic package of intrigue and brevity" - Mr Olivetti, Freq
